The product has no taste and smell, looks like a translucent paste. Enterosgel contains polymethylsiloxane polyhydrate. The active substance belongs to organomineral polymer complexes. The water-insoluble hydrosilicon of methylsilicic acid has numerous cavities for retaining molecules of other substances. Enterosgel produce Russian and Ukrainian pharmaceutical campaigns. In the intestines, Enterosgel adsorbs metabolites, for example, cholesterol, some viruses, bacteria, fungi, toxins, which have an average molecular weight. The daily dose of intestinal sorbents depends on the age and body weight of the patient. For example, adults should take 1 tablet of activated charcoal per 10 kg of weight. If the body weight is more than 60–70 kg, then add another 1 tablet to the calculated dose. Take adsorbents 1.5–2 hours before meals or 2 hours after eating. It is recommended to chew tablets or pre-crush, drink with water. Paste, granules or powder before use are mixed with a small volume of liquid.
