Amoxicillin is an antibacterial drug that is effective against many bacteria. But sometimes it leads to the development of negative reactions from the body. Therefore, some patients are interested in Amoxicillin analogues, which are created on the same active component, but supplemented with various auxiliary ingredients.

Composition (active substance) of Amoxicillin

The antibiotic Amoxicillin incorporates the active component of amoxicillin trihydrate. Sometimes manufacturers include sulbactam, clavulanic acid to enhance the antibacterial properties. However, doctors are not advised to start treating the disease with these forms of Amoxicillin. Otherwise, bacteria can develop resistance to this type of antibiotic.

In addition to the active components in the composition of the drug are the following excipients that do not affect the patient's body:

  • magnesium stearate;
  • titanium dioxide;
  • starch;
  • polyvidone sodium;
  • cellulose.

Auxiliary components contribute to shaping the tablet form of the medicinal substance and its better digestibility. To improve palatability, Amoxicillin suspension contains a number of flavorings, glucose, and silicon. In addition to the active ingredient, a medicament in the form of injections contains substances that have an analgesic effect.

Therapeutic actions and indications for use

This antibacterial agent is widely used to combat streptococci, staphylococci, Klebsiella, Escherichia coli, neurosteria, Salmonella.

The instructions for use indicate that Amoxicillin has the following therapeutic properties:

  • antibacterial;
  • bactericidal;
  • destroying bacterial cells;
  • modifying the synthesis of protein pathogens.

Amoxicillin is prescribed to combat pathogens that are sensitive to penicillins.

It is indicated for use in the presence of the following pathologies:

  • diseases of the respiratory system of an inflammatory, infectious nature;
  • ENT diseases;
  • urinary tract infection;
  • infections of the skin;
  • diseases of the infectious nature of the abdominal organs;
  • sepsis;
  • meningitis;
  • salmonellosis;
  • gonorrhea;
  • Lyme disease.

For information, there are known cases of the use of Amoxicillin in the complex treatment of peptic ulcer caused by the helicobacter bacterium.

Russian analogues in tablets

Russian pharmaceutical companies produce various forms of Amoxicillin. Moreover, in tablets, analogues are cheaper than in suspensions.

The following medications are used as substitutes for the original in tablet form:

  1. Amosin. It contains 250 mg of amoxicillin. Allowed to take children older than 3 years of age. Effectively fights gram-positive, gram-negative pathogenic microorganisms. Used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases. The dosage is selected individually, in connection with the age, severity of the patient's condition.
  2. Ecobol. Available in 500, 250 mg. It treats the same diseases as the original. Appointed from 3 years of age. The usual adult dosage is 500 mg three times a day. In severe cases, it is allowed to drink 1000 mg three times a day.
  3. Amoxicar tablets. Consists of 250, 500 mg of amoxicillin. The medicine treats infections of the middle, mild course. This form is used to treat patients from 10 years of age;
  4. Amoxil. Available exclusively in tablets. It consists of 250, 500 mg of the active ingredient. The drug is not recommended to be taken up to 6 years. Effectively fights bacteria with penicillin sensitivity.

Important! Instructions for use Amoxicillin analogues are recommended to be selected together with the doctor, since some auxiliary ingredients that are part of the drugs increase the number of contraindications.

Domestic substitutes in the form of a suspension

The tablet form is not prescribed for the treatment of children under 3 years old. Therefore, pharmaceutical companies produce antibiotics in the form of suspensions. Since they are easier to drink by children and have a more accurate dosage.

It is possible to replace Amoxicillin with the following analogues in suspension:

  1. Amosin in powder form for suspension. The dosage is calculated individually, based on the weight of the child. Typically, 1 mg of weight accounts for 20 mg of the drug. A medication is prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory and bacterial diseases, endocarditis.
  2. Amoxicar Plus. This is a powder for the manufacture of children's suspension. To enhance the antibacterial effect, clavulanic acid is included in its composition. Even newborns are allowed to use. It is prescribed based on the weight of the child. Usually 5 mg of the drug per 1 kg of weight.

Clavulanic acid, found in some analogues of Amoxicillin, provides the suppression of bacterial resistance.

Imported Amoxicillin Tablets

Amoxicillin analogs in tablets of foreign production can be presented in a combined form to enhance the antibacterial effect.

Known substitutes for the original in tablet form include the following medications:

  1. Amoxicillin Sandoz. Available in Austria at a dosage of 1, 0.5 g.Recommended for treatment of 12 years. The medication effectively fights bacteria sensitive to it.
  2. Flemoxin Solutab. Issued by the Netherlands. The composition of the tablets includes two active ingredients: clavulanic acid, amoxicillin. The drug highly treats diseases of moderate to severe severity. Appointed from 2 years of age.
  3. Augumentin. It is made in Great Britain. Consists of amoxicillin, clavulanic acid. It is widely used to treat urinary and respiratory tract infections. Recommended from 12 years.

The price category of imported analogues is usually higher than Russian medications.

Foreign generics in suspension

Modern suspension analogs are a good alternative to tablets. The dose of the drug is calculated taking into account the condition, the patient, his age limit, body weight. Many pediatricians replace Amoxicillin with imported suspensions, since the latest drugs are usually easier for children to tolerate.

Doctors prescribe the following drugs:

  1. Amoxiclav, which is produced by an Austrian company in the form of a powder for suspensions. It contains clavulanic acid, amoxicillin. It treats the lower respiratory tract, urinary system, ENT organs. It is calculated individually. Assigned by pediatricians from 3 months of age.
  2. Clavocin, which is produced in Croatia. Allowed for use during prematurity. The drug treats diseases of the pelvic organs, upper respiratory tract.

Suspensions have the same mechanism of action with the tablet form.

Medicines similar in pharmacological properties

The following medicines are related to medicines similar in therapeutic effect:

  1. Suprax is an antibacterial drug of the cephalosporin group. Its administration is prescribed for hypersensitivity to penicillins or in the absence of the effectiveness of Amoxicillin. The medicine is issued in suspension, in tablets. It is allowed to take from six months.
  2. Klacid is an antibacterial agent of the macrolide group. Effectively treats the upper respiratory tract. It contains 125, 250 mg of the active ingredient, clarithromycin. Available in powder form for further dissolution.
  3. Sumamed refers to macrolides. Approved for use from six months. It is published in tablet, capsule form. Children are shown a powder for self-suspension.

Therapy with medications that have a similar effect to Amoxicillin is permitted only after consultation with the doctor, who will select the necessary dosage and duration of the therapeutic course. Amoxicillin has many analogues of Russian and foreign production, the selection of which should be agreed with the doctor.
